A Bit more about the Artist

I am watercolour artist, passionate about freedom of expression and emotional connections.

Memories, feelings and nature itself are the key inspirations for my art. In particular, how they can be used to inspire and enable a freedom to create a piece of work that really resonates with others.

I love the 'sense of place' that nature can give you, and the fact that it remains within you to be called upon whenever you need it. When a connection is made between the viewer and the image, the magic happens.

My artwork is loosely based on landscapes, but as an intuitive and emotional response to a place rather than a realistic interpretation. I aim to create artwork that inspires, uplifts and connects with the viewer.

Artist Statement

I am a self taught artist who fell in love with Watercolours at the start of my art career and have remained with them ever since.

Rules are meant to be broken and watercolour can be as versatile as any other medium. Its beauty lies in its transparancy and freedom of movement.

I live on the south coast and exhibit regularly at Ar Fairs and other exhibitions. All of the details of where I exhibit are in my newsletter, along with any special events, news items and offers. I am delighted that my artwork has found homes both nationally and Internationally.

I am lucky to share a studio / gallery space with a fellow artist, and, together we work and exhibit there, inviting guest local artists to join us. The Studio is based in the beautiful South Downs which is the inspiration for many of my paintings and is open 4 days a week, Thursday to Sunday. One of us will be there to welcome you.
